
The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mamoun Al-Debie, met with a Malaysian delegation consisting of officials from the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education and representatives from major Malaysian universities.
The meeting aimed to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between the two countries. During the discussion, they explored ways to expand student and academic exchange programs as well as joint scientific research between educational institutions in Jordan and Malaysia. Al-Debie emphasized the importance of the bilateral relations between Jordan and Malaysia in the academic field, highlighting Jordan’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with Malaysian universities in the areas of technology, applied sciences, and scientific research. The meeting also addressed various topics related to facilitating the admission process for Malaysian students into Jordanian universities and vice versa. Both sides praised the existing relations between the two countries and expressed hope that this visit would open new avenues for cooperation in higher education and scientific research. It is worth noting that there are currently 1,800 Malaysian students studying at Jordanian universities, in addition to 520 new students who will enroll in Jordanian universities for the upcoming academic year 2024/2025.
