The meeting was attended by the Director of the Malaysian Cultural Attaché, Dr. Ridwan Abdul Rashid, and Mr. Fadi Al-Rousan, Director of the International Students Affairs Unit at the ministry.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Al-Dabie welcomed the ambassador, emphasizing the strong brotherly relations between the two countries and his desire to build upon them. He highlighted the distinguished level of Jordanian universities, expressing his wish to increase the number of Malaysian students studying in Jordan. He pointed out the official visit planned by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in February 2025, aimed at meeting Malaysian officials and conducting field visits to Malaysian schools to promote Jordanian universities. Dr. Al-Dabie also noted that tolerance and moderation characterize Islamic Sharia curricula in Jordan, providing an excellent opportunity for students to study Islamic sciences in an environment of balance and moderation.

Dr. Al-Dabie also requested consideration for the interests of Jordanian students studying at Malaysian universities, ensuring cooperation to help them obtain their academic qualifications and addressing any challenges they might face, in line with Malaysian regulations and instructions. He stressed the importance of not allowing Jordanian students in Malaysian universities to write their theses in Arabic in all disciplines, except for those specializing in Arabic language and Islamic Sharia.

For his part, Ambassador Mohamad Nasri Abdul Rahman praised Jordanian students in Malaysia for their commitment to Malaysian regulations, emphasizing the importance of following up on their affairs. He also called for an increase in the number of Malaysian students studying in Jordanian universities, particularly in Islamic Sharia and Arabic language programs. Dr. Ridwan Abdul Rashid, the Director of the Malaysian Cultural Attaché, highlighted that for the first time this year, Malaysia has sent students to study mechanical engineering and information technology due to the excellence of Jordanian universities in these fields.

It is worth noting that the number of Malaysian students enrolled in Jordanian higher education institutions at the beginning of the current academic year 2024-2025 reached 2,011 students.
