The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Azmi Mahafzah, issues a circular to higher education institutions regarding the procedures for admitting and registering students of the 2025–2026 supplementary session who have been called for military service.

The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Azmi Mahafzah, issued today, Wednesday, an important circular to all official and private Jordanian higher education institutions, requesting them to adhere to the instructions for counting lectures and training programs for students of higher education institutions within military service and reserve service, issued pursuant to Article 14 of the Military Service and Reserve Service Law No. 23 of 1986 and its amendments.

Mahafzah emphasized in his circular that students who graduated with the Jordanian General Secondary Education Certificate in the 2025–2026 supplementary session, and who have been called to perform military service as of 1-2-2026, are entitled (after verifying their call-up through the text message sent to their mobile phones, or by any other means) to benefit from the above-mentioned instructions, in accordance with the following:

  1. A first-degree relative must visit the university/college to complete the registration procedures at official universities, whether in the regular program if nominated by the Unified Admission Coordination Unit, or in the parallel program if nominated by the concerned university, in addition to registration at private universities and private university colleges.
  2. The university/college shall collect the registration fee paid for the first time only upon the student’s admission, without collecting any other fees and without registering any credit hours.
  3. After the conscript completes the service period, the General Command of the Armed Forces shall provide the Ministry and higher education institutions with lists containing the names of students who have completed military service. The current semester, the second semester 2025–2026, shall be considered automatically deferred for the student, and (12) credit hours shall be credited from his study plan in accordance with the above-mentioned instructions.

The above arrangements shall apply to all students enrolling at the beginning of the second semester 2025–2026, whether at the bachelor’s degree level or the intermediate diploma level
