
The official delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Jordan Tourism Board continued its official visit to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, during which it toured a large number of schools in the region over the past few days with the aim of promoting study at Jordanian universities. Mr. Muhannad Al-Khatib, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, presented an introductory workshop about Jordan and its most prominent features that make it an attractive destination for increasing the number of international students studying at Jordanian higher education institutions. Additionally, a guide titled "Study in Jordan" was distributed in both Arabic and English, and it is currently being translated and prepared in the Kurdish language. At the end of these workshops, all inquiries and questions from students were answered.
It is worth noting that an official delegation from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Jordan Tourism Board had started an official work visit to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq at the beginning of this week, during which they met with several officials from the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The delegation included Mr. Muhannad Al-Khatib, Media Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Director of the Unified Admission Coordination Unit, and Mr. Khaled Al-Kilani, representative of the Jordan Tourism Board in Iraq. On the first day of the visit, and in the presence of Mr. Fouad Al-Majali, the Consul General of Jordan in Erbil, the delegation met with His Excellency Dr. Alan Hama Saeed Saleh, Minister of Education in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. They also met with several officials responsible for certificate authentication and equivalency at the Ministry of Education, in addition to other officials responsible for scholarships at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Mr. Muhannad Al-Khatib provided a detailed explanation of the efforts of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to increase the enrollment of international students in Jordanian universities, particularly the launch of the ministry’s unified electronic admission system for international students, which aims to save time, effort, and money for the student and help them obtain university admission while in their home country, without the need to resort to any intermediaries of any kind. During the meetings, several issues of mutual interest were also discussed, including the completion of procedures for signing the executive program in the field of higher education and scientific research and the exchange of students and faculty members, in addition to discussing the mechanism for sending students from the region to study at Jordanian universities.
