The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and a Number of Jordanian Public and Private Universities Participate in the EDUGATE International Higher Education Exhibition in the Arab Republic of Egypt

The activities of the EDUGATE International Exhibition, specializing in educational tourism, commenced yesterday, Monday, in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The exhibition will continue for three days in Cairo and one day in Alexandria. Jordan is participating in the exhibition under the slogan “Study in Jordan” through the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition to a number of Jordanian public and private universities and various aviation academies.

It is worth noting that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has a strategic partnership with the Jordan Tourism Board, which is making tremendous efforts to support educational tourism in the Kingdom. Jordan’s participation in this exhibition comes as part of the implementation of the Executive Plan of the Strategy for Attracting International Students to Study at Jordanian Higher Education Institutions for the years (2023–2027). The strategy was prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in cooperation and coordination with its strategic partner, the Jordan Tourism Board, and approved by the Council of Ministers. It aims to enhance educational tourism in the Kingdom and increase the enrollment of international students at Jordanian higher education institutions. The Ministry and Jordanian universities have participated, and will continue to participate, in several other exhibitions that will be held in various countries during 2026.

The exhibition witnessed a large turnout of students and their families in general, with particular interest in the pavilions of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the Jordan Tourism Board, and the participating universities.

Meanwhile, the Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of Jordan in Cairo, Dr. Riyad Al-Najada, and the Cultural and Media Counselor, Dr. Alaa Al-Zyoud, visited the pavilions of the participating Jordanian universities and colleges. During the visit, they emphasized the role of these institutions in promoting and marketing Jordanian universities, highlighting their advanced academic standing, distinguished reputation, outstanding educational environment, modern facilities, and highly qualified academic staff, all of which have placed them among the leading Arab universities attracting Arab and international students across various academic disciplines.

The importance of the Embassy of Jordan in Cairo, through its Cultural Attaché Office, and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in strengthening opportunities for promoting Jordanian higher education and attracting Egyptian students was also emphasized. This builds upon the cultural programs, memoranda, and cooperation agreements shared between Jordan and Egypt that support this objective, particularly in light of the growing number of Egyptian students enrolled in Jordanian universities.

Representatives of the participating academic and educational institutions presented an overview of their participation in the exhibition and the efforts undertaken to strengthen national initiatives for international student recruitment and encourage Arab students, particularly in the Arab Republic of Egypt, to pursue their studies in Jordan by benefiting from the competitive advantages and facilities offered to them. They also expressed their appreciation for the continuous support provided by the Embassy of Jordan and its presence at such important educational exhibitions.
